Mountain trip

Our view from the deck

We took a trip to visit Bradley's parents last week in the mountains of Highlands, NC. It was beautiful there and we really enjoyed the much cooler temperature. I believe that the high's were about 75 the entire time, so that was a very nice break from the sweltering Mississippi heat.  It was fantastic visiting with Mae Mae and Gaddy, and also Aunt Whit, Uncle Kip, and Kip's parents (Sippi and Pap).

Bradley played golf several days and I did a spa/shopping trip. We also took the children to a place called the Franklin Fun Center one day. Lila and James both loved it! They went on the carousel, and played several games. James became obsessed with the yellow digger and rode it about 10 times. He is all boy. I know that this sounds sexist, but it is just true. He loves balls and trucks (basically anything with wheels).  It is so funny how different my two children are. Lila gets up every morning and even before she comes into the kitchen she puts on her princess dress, high heeled shoes, necklace, ring, tiara, and makeup. They are both a hoot and I love them with all my heart!

Also, just an update on my favorite little man and princess.  James took 4 steps yesterday and is signing many words.  He is also saying a few words too. His favorites are ball, up, mama, daddy, and lila.  His favorite signs are dog, please, thank you, eat, drink, hat.  He signed love to me other day and I almost cried.  Swinging is his favorite thing to do besides play ball and trucks. And he loves blowing kisses.

Lila has started "camp" at our church 3 days a week from 9-12. Today was show and tell and of course she brought her princess dress and tiara.  She doesn't leave the house without lipstick on and this morning she introduced me to her "friend" Tom.  I can't see or hear Tom, but he ate breakfast with her and even had his own spoon.  I guess she gets it naturally because I had an imaginary friend who drove a green car, and Bradley had 3 imaginary friends. Lila has the most active imagination I have ever seen.  I love this stage and will be sad when she grows out of it.  We are having a great summer so far!

It's funny how they kept fighting over the wheel! Neither wanted to let go...both stubborn. Kind of reminds me of their mom and dad.

Last night I helped host a baby shower for my sweet friend Angela. It was a fabulous party and I was thrilled to see some friends that I haven't visited with in a while.  I love a girl's night out!

I think they were complimenting each other's dress

 The lovely mother-to-be
